Walls, symbols, labels, and canvas controls

Use these playbooks to draft accurately, manage geometry confidently, and keep plans production-ready.

Editors
Draw walls with scale-aware measurements
Walls display live segment lengths in your selected unit system.
  1. Choose the Wall tool from the bottom dock or press W.
  2. Click and drag on the canvas to define a wall segment.
  3. Hold Shift while dragging to constrain direction to horizontal or vertical.
  4. Release pointer to commit the wall if segment length is valid.
Editors
Edit connected wall geometry
Corner and segment handles keep connected walls moving together.
  1. Switch to Select and click a wall segment.
  2. Drag a corner handle to move connected endpoints in one action.
  3. Drag a segment handle to slide the wall along its normal direction.
  4. Use wall properties in the inspector to set exact length and thickness.
Editors
Place doors and windows as true wall openings
Door and window tools insert wall-constrained openings instead of floating symbols.
  1. Select Door (D) or Window (N) from the quick tools.
  2. Click on a wall to insert the opening using the nearest wall projection.
  3. Switch back to Select and drag the opening along the wall edge.
  4. Resize from transform handles if needed; placement stays constrained to walls.
Editors
Use the build panel symbol library
Search and drag SVG-backed symbols by category into your active layer.
  1. Open the Symbols tab in the build panel.
  2. Filter by category or search by keyword, for example sofa, sink, or panel.
  3. Drag a symbol card into the canvas and drop at the desired location.
  4. For faster insertion, use quick tool hotkeys F, E, P, H, and L.
Editors
Transform symbols and fill metadata
Selected symbols support precise X/Y, size, rotation, and costing metadata.
  1. Select one symbol to open detailed properties in the inspector.
  2. Use on-canvas handles to resize; drag rotate handle to rotate and hold Shift to snap.
  3. Enter exact numeric values for position, width, height, and rotation in inspector fields.
  4. Fill model number, manufacturer, cost, and texture URL for manifest-ready exports.
Editors
Create labels and work with auto room labels
Manual labels are fully editable; room labels are auto-centered with live area text.
  1. Use Label tool (A) and click canvas to create a manual text label.
  2. Select the label to edit text, font size, weight, color, and alignment.
  3. Create a closed wall loop and the system auto-generates a room label in that loop.
  4. Rename room labels directly; area is computed and shown automatically below the name.
Editors
Manage layers, visibility, and lock states
Layers isolate workstreams and prevent accidental edits.
  1. Open the Layers tab from the build panel.
  2. Add a new layer using the layer name input and plus button.
  3. Click a layer name to set it as active for new objects.
  4. Use eye and lock icons per layer to control visibility and editability.
Editors
Navigate canvas, viewport presets, and device preview
Viewport controls simulate desktop, tablet, and mobile surfaces with custom zoom.
  1. Use desktop, tablet, and mobile buttons in the editor header to switch preview mode.
  2. Pick exact viewport dimensions from the dimensions dropdown.
  3. Set zoom from presets, mouse wheel, plus/minus controls, or Fit action.
  4. Hold Space and drag to pan quickly across large plans.
Editors
Configure grid, snapping, performance, focus mode, and theme
Fine-tune canvas behavior for speed, precision, and visual preference.
  1. In the inspector with no selection, toggle Show grid and Snap to grid.
  2. Adjust grid size for your drafting precision requirements.
  3. Enable Performance overlay to inspect render and culling metrics in real time.
  4. Use Focus mode to collapse side panels and use Theme menu for light, dark, or system mode.
